RESPOND TO ACTS OF HATE WITH LOVE
Trib

By Jackie Pilossoph, July 13, 2016

Hopeless and depressing are two words that came to mind when I heard about the Dallas police shootings last week.

The ambush that led to five dead and seven injured police officers, as well as two injured civilians, made me think about how much prejudice and hatred there is in the world, and I felt more pessimistic than ever about race relations, which seem increasingly strained by the day.

Trib

By Jackie Pilossoph, April 27, 2016

Although I was a huge Prince fan during the 1980s, he sort of dropped off my radar after his "Purple Rain" album and movie, with the exception of his bizarre name change – The Artist (Formerly Known As Prince) – and his Super Bowl performance in 2007, which I thought was amazing.

So when I heard about Prince's death, I was extremely curious to learn more about him. This led to my viewing of several Prince documentaries and reading countless articles online, where I learned a lot.
