Stacey Ellison, CDLP®

Certified Divorce Lending Professional, Divorce Mortgage Planner, Mortgage Loan Originator

“Can I afford to keep the house?” “Is it better to sell the house?” “Should I buy a new house or does renting make more sense?” “Will I be able to get a mortgage?” “Will interest rates ever come down?” These are questions so often asked in divorce. The problem is, divorcing men and women are asking these questions to their divorce attorneys, and guess what? They don’t know. In fact, it’s not their job to know.

It’s actually Stacey Ellison’s job to help you answer these questions. Stacey is a divorce mortgage planner who helps clients with all house-related issues in the divorce. Stacey, who has been a mortgage lender since 1996, and who is a Certified Divorce Lending Professional (CDLP) can offer divorce mortgage planning all over the U.S.

Stacey can advocate for you, or she can serve as a third party neutral in determining how the house is handled in the divorce. Stacey can also collaborate with your other divorce professionals–your divorce attorney, financial advisor, or mediator so that you have a divorce team behind you, listening to your goals and aiming to get you the best possible outcome in your divorce.

We are so excited to have Stacey join the Divorced Girl Smiling team of trusted professionals!

About Stacey

Divorce brings emotional and financial challenges—especially when it comes to the marital home. As a Certified Divorce Lending Professional (CDLP®), I specialize in helping clients make clear, confident, and educated decisions about their home equity and mortgage options during and after divorce.

Whether the goal is to keep the home, sell it, or explore a buyout, I provide guidance that supports:

  • Understanding  mortgage affordability now and in the future
  • Evaluating equity division and buyout options
  • Navigating the impact of divorce on mortgage qualification
  • Creating  a strategic plan that aligns with your financial goals

I also work closely with divorce attorneys, mediators, and financial professionals to ensure that the real estate and mortgage aspects of the settlement are fully considered—because what seems fair today may not be sustainable tomorrow.
